Bethesda, Md. Carjacking.
An attempted carjacking was foiled when the car the suspects tried to steal turned out to be a stick shift, police say.
The incident occurred Sunday night in Bethesda, Md., when two male suspects approached a man and demanded his keys, the Montgomery County Police Department tells PEOPLE.
But when the suspects entered the man’s vehicle, they were unable to drive it, reportedly because they didn’t know how to drive a car with a manual transmission, says the department.
The unidentified suspects then fled the scene.
