Carrie Underwoodis keeping her options open.
In her cover story forRedbook‘s September issue, the country superstar opened up about her family life, including whether she and husbandMike Fisherhave plans to give their 3-year-old son Isaiah Michael any siblings.
“I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family,” she explains. “We always talkabout adoption and aboutdoing it when our child or children are a little older.”
“In the meantime, we’re lucky to be a part oforganizations that help kids, because our focus right now in our lives is helping as many kids as possible,” Underwood adds.

Underwood is getting plenty of sweet bonding time with her son in the meantime, though. In May, she spoke to PEOPLE about an incident whereIsaiah made her “feel pretty”when she wasn’t quite feeling it herself.
“I feel the prettiest when my kid says something that’s just super sweet,” said the“Cry Pretty”singer, who received40 to 50 stitches in her faceand underwentsurgery on her broken wristafter anaccident last November, when shetripped on the stepsoutside her Nashville, Tennessee, home.

“And he said, ‘I likeyou just how you are.’ He didn’t want me to put makeup on,” explained Underwood. “That made me feel pretty. I know I wasn’t [pretty] because I had just woken up and hadn’t brushed my teeth yet, but he made me feel pretty.”
