Carson Daly Says He Left Ayo Edbiri ‘a Little Easter Egg’ on Her Phone’s Camera After Viral Emmys Moment

Ayo Edebirimay want to check her camera to see if there’s a picture ofCarson Dalyon there.

The Bearactress, 28, had a relatable moment before accepting her Emmy Award on Monday night, when she asked Daly — who was sitting next to her at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles — to help hold her bag while she went onstage to accept her award.

“When you win an Emmy, what you don’t know is you get whisked away to the back for quite some time. So I had her purse, her iPhone and a small little actual [digital] camera for about an hour,” said Daly.

“Ayo’s phone though — it was locked of course, but I was able to get into the camera,” he said. “I may have left her a little Easter egg. If she checks her camera, I don’t know… maybe that will be there, we’ll see.”

In the press room after he win, Edebiri opened up about the moment,joking that she turned to Daly because her parents were sitting in the “cheap seats” further away from her.

“Carson Daly still has my stuff!” she shared.

Daly said onTodayhe had never met Edebiri before that day. “She finally came back about an hour in to the show, and I was just sitting there politely,” he said. “And then I gave her her stuff.”

He also snapped a picture of the belongings, which showed that Edebiri had a photo of her parents as her screensaver.

Hoda Kotbwondered then he learned it had gone viral, Daly said it wasn’t until he was at Los Angeles International airport with his wife Siri and their kids (son Jackson, 14, and daughters Etta, 11, London, 9, and Goldie, 3).

“I was in LAX flying home…and a woman came up and was like, ‘Will you hold my purse?’ " Daly remembered. “I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ I was like, ‘Oh, the Emmys.’ "

That hasn’t stopped since. “This morning, here, people were like, ‘Will you hold my stuff? Will you hold my stuff,' " said Daly. “If you see me on the streets, please don’t hand me your belongings.”
