Cash Cobainhas a Slizzy, albeit busy, year ahead.

After further cementing his commercial breakout over the last several months with posse cuts, pop superstar co-signs and his first solo charting tracks, the 26-year-old Bronx hitmaker’s star is still rising. His approach to scheduling things out, however, remains unchanged.

“I hate set schedules," Cash, 26, says with a smile over Zoom. “I love chaos.”

Tracks including “Fisherrr” and “Attitude” have become inescapable in New York, he’s joined collaborator Ice Spice on select tour dates, pushed his “Slizzy” agenda (a word that he’s used to define the confidence he embodies), tapped Drake for the cover of his August debut studio album,Play Cash Cobain, and is now seeing some recent love fromJustin Bieber— who smoked along to “Attitude” on his Instagram Story a couple weeks back (an “amazing” feeling). “It’s a great feeling to know one of the GOATs is Slizzy, for him to rock with little old me means a lot.”

But as he hops on a call with PEOPLE on Valentine’s Day, Cash’s heart is set on something new: Planning yet “another takeover,” whether he likes having those specifics scheduled out or not.

“I’m trying to take over this year again. Last year I did good. This year I’m trying to do better,” Cash, real name Cashmere Small, says of his recent wins. “Last year was an introduction with a lot of people, you know what I’m saying? It was a lot of the sexy drill feel. Now I’m trying to do different s—. I’m trying to be more on the producer side of things as well.”

“It’s away from that sexy drill sound. It’s vibey too, so it felt like summertime, they like me in the summertime, so that’s what the songs feel like. Summertime,” he says. “So I had to kick it off with that.”

As for how he’s rounding up his samples this year specifically, Cash explains that the songs he finds himself most connected to end up being “random s—” he stumbles across on TikTok or Instagram. “I like when a sample comes to me,” he says. “When I’m outside or I’m in the car, you know what I’m saying? And they just come like, ‘Damn, what’s this?’ I pull up my Shazam app and it works. Get home, we get to work.”

Cash’s work ethic as of late has all been in preparation for what he’s teasing as three forthcoming music releases, all offering something different from the in-demand producer: A full-length solo project tentatively titledParty with Slizzy, another release that he describes as rock (or indie-adjacent) and something a little more feature-focused.

“This first album is just a vibe,” he says ofParty with Slizzy, which earns its tentative title from what Cash has established as his favorite word. “Got Brazilian funk on there. Got New Orleans, we got some sexy drill. And then some are another genre, hip-hop, trap, whatever you want to call that."

“And I’m going to drop a rock album. I’m not sure if it’s rock, I don’t know what to call the genre. But it’s going to be a total different feel.”

The project, which he calls a “Cigarettes After Sex vibe,” is the product of an Instagram Live session weeks back, during which a viewer claimed Cash kept producing “the same” song repeatedly. “So I said, f— it, I’m going to [make] a rock song. So I did it online. And I liked it so much, nah f— it, we’re about to go crazy.”

“That vibe right there.Sabrina Carpenter, I f— with her vibe. That’s pop. But yeah, her vibe,” Cash adds of where he’s been drawing inspiration. “I got some different [sounds], like the guitar vibe.”

On his mission toward crafting three new projects in the months ahead, Cash admits he’s been “working hard” and “trying to make the most” out of his position. But his hope for the music remains the same. “I’m not trying to make you think, “Nah, this deep.’ Nah. This s— sexy. It’s fun.”

And as for those who haven’t yet tapped in to Cash Cobain in 2025, he offers a message: “Welcome to Slizzy world.”
