Cassadee Popeis ready to help people say “I do” in Tennessee.
“I don’t know if you know this but the state I live in, Tennessee, passed a bill that allows public officials to not marry couples at their discretion,” Pope said inher Reel. “Obviously this is an attack on same-sex couples.”
“It just so happens that in 2020 I got really bored and became ordained,” she said in the video while flaunting her certificate. “It’s official. So if you run into any issues, I’d love to help you out.”
Pope captioned the clip, “I now pronounce you whatever the hell you want ❤️.”
This isn’t the first timeThe Voicewinner has advocated for the LGBTQ+ community.
In August 2022, Pope called outJason Aldean’s wifeBrittany Kerr Aldeanover a transphobic comment she made on Instagram.
“I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life,” Brittany, 35, captioned a makeup revealvideo. The comment was made amid ongoing debate and efforts tocurb access to gender-affirming care.
The “I’ve Been Good” singer shared her response to Brittany, who has aline of hair extensions, Xo Britt, on Twitter and Instagram without tagging her.
“You’d think celebs with beauty brands would see the positives in including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging,” Popewrote. “But instead here we are, hearing someone compare their ‘tomboy phase’ to someone wanting to transition. Real nice.”

Joy Oladokun, who identifies as LGBTQ, quote tweeted Pope’s statement witha selfiewith the peace sign, writing: “Waking up happy that my parents didn’t raise me to be as rude and nasty as @brittanyaldean.”
“I also would like to say the LGBTQs have clearer skin without whatever she pushin',” the singer-songwriter, 32, added.
Maren Morrisalso commented on Pope’s post writing: “It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.”
