A person who paid their partner to take care of their cat and house over the holiday weekend says they returned to find that the partner had “made a mess” instead.

In a post shared toReddit, the anonymous poster writes that they were away for Thanksgiving and opted to allow their partner to watch over things rather than hire a cat sitter.

“They needed the money, so I figured I would let them stay at mine and pay them instead,” the poster writes.

The poster says they left the house “pretty clean” but returned to find “clothes thrown everywhere, cables from my work desk unplugged and moved, furniture moved, bed not made, bathroom looking nasty.”

But the worst part, they add, was that “the cat litter wasn’t scooped at all.”

“Initially, I tried to hold it together and not make a scene because my roommate was home and I didn’t want to cause a scene,” the poster writes. “But I just couldn’t hold it together anymore. I yelled at her and told her it’s just downright disrespectful.”

Now, the poster wants to know if they went too far, adding that their outburst made their partner cry.

Adds another: " This is exactly how much your partner respects you … think of how much longer you’ll put up with this level of disrespect. It’s not even leaving your clean house a mess, but an innocent animal relied on your partner to provide it with it’s basic needs.”
