Catelynn Lowell BaltierraandTyler Baltierra’s daughter showed sweet support for her parents during an emotional moment.
In the finale episode of the first season ofTeen Mom: The Next Chapter, both 31-year-olds are tearful as they leave a visit with their biological daughterCarly, whom they placed for adoption in 2009 during their time on theTeen Momorigin series16 & Pregnant.
As the family gets back into the car to head home from the visit — their first visit in two years and longest since the adoption went through — daughterNovalee, 8, reassures her parents, “Well at least we’ll see her next year.”
As both Tyler and Catelynn wipe away tears, Nova says, “Mom, I just want to say that Carly will always be in your heart.”
“And she’ll always be in your life. She’s not gone forever, just for today,” Catelynn’s dad, who joined the family for the visit, adds. “Love doesn’t just go away. You just don’t see her every day.”
“I wish we could see her every single day,” Nova admits.
“Me too,” Catelynn says.

“Hey, at least we had some fun with Carly,” Nova adds, later noting, “I just want to say my mom and dad started this family. And I’m grateful for it, because if you two had never had met, you wouldn’t even have like me in your life, or Carly, or all the angel babies.”
In a confessional, Catelynn delivers a message to Carly, saying, “I just want you to know you are the biggest blessing in my life — somebody who has pushed me to grow in so many great ways. You were meant to come into the world to literally create change, to teach me things, to teach your parents things, to teach my other family members things.”
“I am so proud to watch you grow up. I love learning about your passions and stuff and just seeing how great of a person you are. I love being able to witness your goofy and silly sides because it reminds me so much of Ty and to see that you have a little bit of our personalities is truly amazing.”
Catelynn tearfully continues, “I just want you to know that you are loved. If you weren’t loved, I never would have made the decision I made for you because I wanted to be selfish and not make it sometimes, and I know that it would have been selfish to keep you in that chaos. Literally, it’s all about love. I don’t ever want you to think that you weren’t loved or that we didn’t want you.”
Speaking with PEOPLE in August, the couple said that now that Carly is 14, the couple enjoys speaking with the teenager about “life stuff.”
“She’s at the age now where we’re talking to her about things like, school and sports and what boys she likes and what she wants to do for college. We talk about all the things and it’s really awesome.”
“And the girls love her,” Catelynn said of her other three daughters. “I feel like this was the first year where Vaeda really got it a little bit more. She’s still only 4.”
“Seeing them all together is the best. Watching them interact is amazing,” she shared at the time.
“Those are the moments where we feel like, you could just melt into this forever. It’s so amazing to see them all together.”
