“When your 74-year-old mother asks you and your sisters to get matching tattoos with her in Vegas, the only questions are, ‘what?’ and ‘where?’ " Underwood wrote alongside photos from the family outing.
In one shot, the “Before He Cheats” singer is seen sitting up on the table as the tattoo artist works on her foot, while another shot shows her smiling mom getting inked on her wrist.
“I never would’ve thought I’d see the day that Mama Carole would be gettin’ some ink! 😂❤️#WhatHappensInVegas,” Underwood continued in her caption which also included a shot of all four “Underwood girls” with their completed matching hearts.

Thiessen revealed that the tattoo not only paid homage to her grandmother, but it’s also a nod to her upcoming 50th birthday.
“My mom and I both dedicated these tattoos to her,” the cookbook author wrote of her grandmother. “She believed that butterflies symbolize transformation and rebirth and that after she left the human world, she would continue to show us she was with us in this form. 🦋”
Thiessen added, “It also seems fitting as I feel a new sense of transformation as I’m about to turn 50.”
