Adeleput herself first when she decided to divorceSimon Konecki.
“I was just going through the motions and I wasn’t happy,” she toldVoguein October 2021. “Neither of us did anything wrong … It just wasn’t … It just wasn’t right for me anymore. I didn’t want to end up like a lot of other people I knew.”
Appearing on the covers of bothVogueandVogue U.K.,the British singer opened up about her separation from Konecki, to whom she was married for about a year.
“Neither of us hurt each other or anything like that. It was just: I want my son to see me really love, and be loved. It’s really important to me,” she continued. (Adele shares 9-year-oldAngelowith the charity magnate, whom she started dating in 2011.) “I’ve been on my journey to find my true happiness ever since.”
Saying Konecki is “not one of my exes. He’s the dad of my child,” Adele added, “If I can reach the reason why I left, which was the pursuit of my own happiness, even though it made Angelo really unhappy — if I can find that happiness and he sees me in that happiness, then maybe I’ll be able to forgive myself for it.”

Pitt and Jolie’s divorce proved to be “jarring” for the famous family, which includes the former couple’s six kids, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Vivienne and Knox. But the actor, whorevealed toGQ Stylethat he stopped drinking and sought therapy after the split, was making an effort to connect with his children on a deeper level — something he, himself, lacked growing up.
“I grew up with a father-knows-best/war mentality — the father is all-powerful, super strong — instead of really knowing the man and his own self-doubt and struggles,” Pitt told the magazine. “And it’s hit me smack in the face with our divorce: I gotta be more. I gotta be more for them. I have to show them. And I haven’t been great at it.”
