From their days onGilmore GirlstoHouse of Wax,Chad Michael MurrayandJared Padaleckihave a bond that will last a lifetime.
Speaking withThe IMDb Show‘s host Tim Kash in a recent interview, Murray, who made hisRiverdaledebut this year, gushed about the deep friendship he forged with Padalecki years ago.
During the sit-down, videotaped discussion, Murray was presented with four former costars —Alexis Bledel(Gilmore Girls), Milo Ventimiglia (ChosenandGilmore Girls), Hilary Duff (A Cinderella Story) and Padalecki (Gilmore GirlsandHouse of Wax) — and had to divulge who knows the biggest secret about him.
Murray was quick to select Padalecki, 36. “We worked together for, gosh, like two, three years. We went straight fromGilmore[Girls] and then went intoHouse of Waxlater on. We were roommates inHouse of Wax,” he explained.
Reflecting on their time filming the horror film, Murray, 37, shared, “Late nights, you got nothing to do and you’re sitting there just spitting out all your truths.”
And looking to the future, Murray is confident that their bromance will carry on for decades to come.
When asked, “What costar will you still be friends with when you’re 85 years old?” Murray also named Padalecki.

“Probably Jared,” said the star, “just because we have a lot in common, man.”
“We could talk forever. Countless hours,” he continued. “And we just created a brotherhood because we both came up together.”
In fall 2016, the cast ofGilmore Girlsreunited for the four-episode Netflix revival,A Year in the Life.
While Padalecki made areturn to Stars Hollowfor a brief scene,Murray was recastin the show.
Sitting down withEntertainment Tonightin 2017, Murray revealed the reasoning as to why he didn’t come back as his bad boy character, Tristin Dugray, who he starred as in the original CW series from 2000-01.
“It just did not work into what we were doing at that moment, so I know that somebody went out and was Tristin, but it wasn’t me,” he said.
In the four-part revival, which hit Netflix on Nov. 25, 2016, Murray’s character Tristin shows up when Rory (Bledel) and Paris (Liza Weil) return to their high school alma mater, Chilton — but it was beyond obvious to fans that he was replaced, even though the appearance was brief.
Still, Murray commended the actor who filled his shoes and portrayed him.
“But I hear strong work, good job, man!” Murray said with a clip of his hands. “You know, Tristan’s secret was be that guy that every girl wants to be next to, but just isn’t sure they should be and I heard he did it well.”
