The actor, 38, shared a sneak peek ofMagic Mike The Musicalin a photo he shared on Instagram Thursday.
Holding thePlaybillfor the musical with a few dollar bills inside, the actor proudly wrote, “This. Is. Happening. Get ready for Magic Mike… THE BROADWAY MUSICAL. Magic Mike The Musicalhas anunconnected plotfrom theMagic Mike Liverevue shows playing in Las Vegas and London, according to Deadline.
The show will also debut in Boston, the outlet reported. No casting has been announced for shows in either location.
Riverdaleshowrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is writing the book for the musical, whileNext to Normalcomposers Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey are composing the music.Choir Boy’s Trip Cullman will direct.
Magic Mikewas released in 2012 and centered around Tatum’s Mike who makes ends meet as a handyman and stripper at an all-male revue.
The film grossed about $167 million at the world box office. The sequel,Magic Mike XXL, was released in 2015.
After the show, Jessie, 30, posted a short video of the show on her Instagram story where she gave a shoutout to the actor.
“Magic Mike London Opening night,” Jessie J wrote. “Congratulations @channingtatum What a show …. Ladies and Gentlemen you don’t want to miss this.”
