The comedian and host, 48, said on Thursday’s episode ofThe Jennifer Hudson Showthat she would make a return to late night if the right circumstances were there.
“Yes, that’s always an option in my mind to go back to late night if the right person comes calling,” she shared. “But it’s also my ultimate pleasure to be able to go and see people, perform [with] live audiences, to write books [and] to do all the things I do.”
TheChelsea Handler: Evolutionstar said that she is content with where her life is currently and that she finds joy from entertaining people at her comedy shows.

“That’s why I love touring because you get to be facing people, you know, interface with people and your fans,” she explained. “And you get to be in front of a live audience and there’s nothing that gives me more pleasure than being on stage in front of thousands of people that have paid to see you there and putting on an incredible show.”
“When you’re an artist there are so many outlets to creativity,” she added.
“Yes, absolutely. I’m moving in that direction,” Handler told the outlet, while adding that she mostly missed “having a female’s perspective” on late night television.

“It’s enough to have a bunch of guys that are on our side and are speaking up on behalf of us, but it’s not the same as having a woman,” she explained. “There is a lack of female representation, in late-night, and I can do that job. I’ve done it before and I’m gonna do it again.”
