Cheris continuing her chart-topping reign!
The 77-year-old music icon this week earned a new No. 1 onBillboard’s Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart for her first holiday single, “DJ Play a Christmas Song” — a milestone that puts her in the history books as the first female artist to have top hit for the past seven decades straight.
Joining her in that milestone landmark are the Rolling Stones, who have also had at least one new No. 1 on theBillboardcharts every decade between the 1960s and 2020s.
In October, Cher opened up to PEOPLE about doingher first Christmas album, which was released on Oct. 20.
“I wanted to make a Cher Christmas album,” the star told PEOPLE at the time. “But I didn’t know how to do it. I never could figure out a way. Then this year, I just asked the record company if they would just let me do it — and just hand the finished product over to them —and they were agreeable, so I started picking songs."

Meanwhile, the 1980s saw Cher grab the No. 1 spots of the Adult Contemporary chart with her and Peter Cetera’s “After All," as well as her “If I could Turn Back Time” in 1989. She then went on to bag more No. 1s in the 1990s with “Strong Enough,” “All or Nothing” and “Believe.”
Hits “Song for the Lonely,” “A Different Kind of Love Song,” and “When the Money’s Gone,” also all reached No.1s in the 2000s, as well as “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me” and “Woman’s World,” in 2011 and 2013.

Speaking recently about“Believe” turning 25-years-oldin October, the music legend admitted that she wasn’t too pleased.
“It’s not that amazing, okay? It pisses the f— out of me,” she said as she laughed on theTodayshowTuesday. “No, it just is like… what is this?”
Cher then revealed in the interview that sheand “age” weren’t friends, explaining that while her late mother actressGeorgia Holt— whodied in 2022 at 96— “didn’t mind,” she’d “give anything to be 70 again!”
In September, the star also toldGood Morning Britainthat she couldn’t believe she would be turning 80 “sooner than I wish.”
“AndI will still be wearing my jeansand I will still be wearing long hair and I will still be doing the same stuff I’ve always done,” she added.
