The “Red Flag Collector” musician, 41, took on one of the “Believe” singer’s songs fromher very first holiday album,Christmas, during Tuesday’s edition of Kellyoke onThe Kelly Clarkson Show.
Clarkson delivered a soulful performance of “DJ Play a Christmas Song,” which showcased her powerhouse vocals over a glittery beat.

“DJ, play a Christmas song / I wanna be dancing all night long / It’s cold outside, but it’s warm in here / And that’s the only thing I want this year,” the “Stronger” singer belted, while adding some jazzy flourishes to the chorus.
“I love this song!” Clarkson exclaimed when she concluded the set.
The Goddess of Pop, 77, took toX (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday to express how much she loved Clarkson’s take on her festive track.
“KELLY,,,,U ACED IT ❗❗U GOT THE GIRL.VERSION OF MY VOICE BABE,I AM OUT OF MY MIND OVER UR VERSION..THE MODULATION GAVE ME …I DONT KNOW, I JUST LOST MY MIND❗❗SISTER U GOT IT,” Cher wrote.
The following day, Clarkson took to the social media platform herself andresponded to Cher’s message. “Girl, you gave us the greatest gift this Christmas with this song! Thank you for letting me sing it,” wrote theAmerican Idolalum. “I love you so much, and you made my year with your post!”
Clarkson’s latest Kellyoke performance isn’t the first time she’s showed love for “DJ Play a Christmas Song.” The Grammy winnerjammed out to the trackwhile hosting NBC’sChristmas in Rockefeller Centerlate last month as Cher performed it for a crowd.
“Oh my gosh, you guys,” Clarkson exclaimed during the broadcast. “Cher just — she put out a Christmas jam, y’all! That song is so good! That is my favorite song in a very long time!”
The “Underneath the Tree” performer has been embracing the holiday spirit lately. On Dec. 7, she teamed up withWynonna JuddduringNBC’sChristmas at the Opryfor a rocking rendition of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.”
