When you’re a teenager in Hollywood, you have all the same awkward moments as regular teens — just on a way more epic scale. You know how that photo of you kissing your high school boyfriend is in the yearbook and you broke up two months later? Chloë Grace Moretz‘s version of that is being snapped with her ex on the cover ofTeen Vogue.
Up until recently, the actress (who’s next seen inBrain on Fire)was dating a member of one of the most fashionable families in Hollywood — 17-year-oldBrooklyn Beckham.Moretz is captured for the cover with her arms around the back of an unnamed, scruffy-haired male, whom sources confirm is in fact Beckham. And in her interview with the magazine, in which she speaks casually to her interviewer, Julianne Moore, Moretz touches upon her former relationship with the teenage photographer — adding that both long distance love and life in the spotlight can be tough.

“Getting into a relationship with someone who also has lived some of their life between cities, from L.A. to New York to London, is easier,” Moretz tells Moore. “We both understand that there will be times when we can’t speak because we are too busy. Some of it is just based on trust. If you feel that you can trust each other and go eight hours without talking, then you have something that can withstand space and time.”

Moretz adds about her then-boyfriend, “We’ll go out and there will be 15 paparazzi and we’re just going to a grocery store. We are real people and we’re having real emotional experiences, and all this is happening around us. Trying to keep ourselves in our own little world is difficult.”
But her relationship isn’t the only thing she tries to keep under wraps throughout her life. The star adds that although she adapted to social media at just 11 years old, she still takes time to focus on what she shares with the world.
“You have to be very aware of what you’re putting out there on social media and how you’re portraying yourself,” she says. “And don’t get caught up in the idea that it’s just for fun.”
