Chris Brownis being sued for allegedly beating up a man at a London nightclub.

According to the lawsuit, Brown, 34, was “beating” Diaw in the head with “crushing blows” and knocked him unconscious. Then, Brown allegedly “continued to ruthlessly stomp” on him for “30 seconds.”

Diaw, who was 43 at the time, “ended up in the hospital with lacerations on his head and torn ligaments in his leg,” the lawsuit states, adding that it left with him “permanent” damage and “severe emotional distress.”

Diaw claims that TAPE caught the altercation on surveillance footage.

The singer’s rep and lawyers did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Brown has along history of legal trouble, beginning in 2009 when he physically assaulted then-girlfriendRihanna. Rihanna was left with visible facial injuries and was hospitalized; Brown was subsequentlycharged with felony assaultand making criminal threats on March 5. He pleaded guilty to a felony on June 22 of that year andaccepted a plea deal of community labor, five years' probation and domestic violence counseling.

After completing the yearlong domestic violence course in 2010,Brown posted to Twitter, “I have enough self respect and decency to be proud of accomplishing this DV class. Boyz run from [their] mistakes. Men learn from them!!!”

Most recently, in May, Brown andUsherreportedly got into a fightthe day before they took the stage atLovers & Friends music festivalin Las Vegas.

Per TMZ, Brown was attempting to talk toTeyana Taylorand became angry when she ignored him, which caused Usher to intervene and try to calm the singer. The outlet said that Brown then told his crew they were leaving, and they exited the facility, though Usher followed after them.

Usher then returned from meeting the group behind a series of charter buses with what appeared to be a bloody nose, according to TMZ, which cited an eyewitness.
