Chris Colferstarted the new month on the Billboard charts!
Colfer’s cover of “Rose’s Turn” from the Broadway musicalGypsy,featured in season oneofGlee,has entered the Billboard TikTok chartat the number three spot.
The actor couldn’t help but ask onX, formerly Twitter, “What is happening??????” since it has been nearly 10 years sincethe show’s final curtain call in 2015.
The cover track began its resurgence on the platform after Colfer singing, “All that work, and what did it get me?” began to be used as an audio for videos.
The music trending on the social media app also began to change after Universal Music Group announced that their contract with TikTok was ending on Jan. 31 and that they had not come to an agreement during negotiations.

“In our contract renewal discussions, we have been pressing them on three critical issues—appropriate compensation for our artists and songwriters, protecting human artists from the harmful effects of AI, and online safety for TikTok’s users,” the companywrote in an open letter.
Universal Music Group ishome to many major music labelsincluding Republic Records, Island Records, and Def Jam Recordings.
The failure to agree caused songs from artists likeTaylor Swift,Olivia Rodrigo, andDraketo be pulled from TikTokin early February. However, covers fromGlee, like Colfer’s recording of “Rose’s Turn,” remain available on the social media platform.
On Wednesday, TikTokreleased a statementconfirming that more music would be removed from their app.
