Kimmel, 51, asked the lovable actor what it was like to play a different type of role.
“It was really an opportunity for me to do something different,” Pratt said. “I liked it.”
Pratt added that director D’Onofrio had wanted him specifically for the role.
“He thought of me for it. When he was putting his spin on the script, he hit me up,” the actor revealed.
“I think I had confided in him and said, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to play a bad guy.’ Because the characters I’ve played, they haven’t really been bad,” Pratt recalled. “Early in my career if I had tried to be bad, people would be like, ‘Oh, he’s not that bad.’”

During the interview, Pratt, who is an avid farmer,also opened upto Kimmel about his100-acre property in Washington.
“Only counting the animals that I put there — because there are birds and bugs — we have 150,” he said about the number of animals he takes care of on the property.
On Valentine’s Day,Pratt revealedthat a new member of his farm was born — the first of 2019’s lambing season.
“I think we’ll call him Cupid. ♥️” the actor shared, as a nod to the little lamb’s Valentine’s Day birthdate.
“Good job Mamma!” he added, before finishing with the hashtags “#farmlife #WeBeLambin’ #lambingseason2019.”
Pratt, who recently got engaged toKatherine Schwarzenegger, regularly posts photos and videos of his farm animals, including chickens and their eggs, lambs, and even a Texas longhorn.
