Chris Youngwon’t say if he’s dating anyone right now, but the multi-platinum hitmakeris inan amazing relationship in the music video for his tender song “What She Sees in Me.”
“I’ve always kept my relationships private,” Young, 38, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. “But I do hope this song and music video inspires other couples and that they want to use it at their wedding to tell theirownlove stories.”
Nevertheless, the exclusive behind-the-scenes video of “What She Sees in Me,” premiering exclusively on PEOPLE, does feature the chemistry between the country star and actress Kelly Bartram as they play out the intimate ins and outs of a long-term relationship.

Another surprise of the music video are the scenes in which Young can be seen playing the piano, a task he often leaves for Seth Costner, who plays keys in his band.
“It’s such a romantic lyric and piano suits this song perfectly,” explains Young of the heartfelt song “What She Sees in Me,” which will soon live on the 18-song album,Young Love & Saturday Nightsset for release Friday. “I started learning to play piano when I was still living in Murfreesboro, and still play but generally like to leave it to the professionals.”
Not surprisingly, Young admits he was a little nervous about sitting down at the piano in the video.
“I called one of my co-writers before filming ‘What She Sees in Me’ because I wanted to make sure I was playing the right chords,” recalls Young, who wrote the tender song alongside Christian Davis Stalnecker, Kyle Fishman,Ray Fulcherand Josh Hoge. “I found out he was doing box jumps in the gym and had broken his arm! [I] had no clue so I had to sit down and relearn the chords before we filmed.”
It was another crazy piece of a day that not only included the filming of one music video, but two.
“We shot the music videos for ‘What She Sees in Me’ and ‘Right Now’ in November on the same day at the same house in Nashville,” says Young, whose current single “Young Love & Saturday Nights” continues its trek up the country music charts. “It was an intense day of filming. We shot ‘What She Sees in Me’ for about six hours and then reset for ‘Right Now’ which takes place at night and took another four hours or so to film.”

And different lyrics made for two very different music video treatments.
“The ‘What She Sees in Me’ music video shows the intimate ins and outs of a long-term relationship,” says Young, who will kick off hisYoung Love & Saturday Nights 2024 Tourthis spring. “’Right Now’ shows a lot of vulnerability and that in-between stage of a relationship.”
The country star’s latest album,Young Love & Saturday Nights, is out Friday.
