Chris Zylka has turned himself into police more than 10 days aftera warrant was issued for his arrest.

Zylka, 39, is facing two felony and three misdemeanor charges related to a Dec. 4 incident where police were called after he made various attempts to get into people’s cars in the middle of the road, per the police report.

When police tried to take him into custody, the10 Things I Hate About Youalum allegedly struggled, and three officers were required to get him handcuffed. Paramedics arrived on the scene and administered ketamine to “subdue” him.

Three of the six charges are also now being contested, including the two felony charges for assault and attempt to commit an offense and the misdemeanor charge for disorderly conduct. The misdemeanor charges for resisting arrest and aggravated menacing have not been contested.

In a statement, his attorney told PEOPLE following the arraignment, “Chris is very appreciative of the tremendous outpouring of love and support from his fans, colleagues, family and friends. We are confident that this matter will be quickly resolved, and ask that everyone respect Chris’s and his family’s privacy in the interim.”

After his Dec. 4 arrest, theMy Super Psycho Sweet 16actor was admitted to the hospital for treatment, Det. Sgt. Eric Laprocina told PEOPLE, and charges were filed on Dec. 5, prompting the warrant to be issued.

Zylka is due in court next on Jan. 17.
